When it got to 300k miles, I decided it was time to replace the aging diesel engine in my BJ60 Landcruiser with a new Cummins Turbo Diesel. The work was done by Jeremiah Proffitt and turned out really nicely:
The increase in power is significant, from 90 hp/159 lb-ft to 161 hp/310 lb-ft, making the truck much more fun to drive. It’s also more quiet and gained air conditioning and better gas mileage for a bonus. While we were in there, we restored the frame and fixed some rust:
I’m very happy with the end result and plan to drive this truck for at least another 12 years and past the 400k mile mark.
